Apparently, feral camels are a problem in Australia. They also happen to emit the equivalent of 1 metric tonne of carbon dioxide per year in the form of methane (1 mtCH4 = 23 mtCO2). Also, they're really easy to shoot from a helicopter. All of this is good, because:
"A commercial company, Northwest Carbon, has proposed culling more than one million camels in the Australian Outback to eliminate that gas emissions, according to AFP.In the proposed plan, the company would shoot the camels from a helicopter or round them up and send them to a slaughterhouse." (Fox News)
Of course, if this fails, they could just replace their cars with kangaroos. Shoot, I would do that just for the heck of it.
